Do I need her to run Detect and Repair? How is it that she could be entirely missing her XLSTART? I can't find any article anywhere that deals with the creation of an XLSTART folder, or with a missing XLSTART folder. I thought that Excel would automatically create it when Excel was installed or when personal.xls was created. I then had her do a search for a XLSTART folder on her harddrive(C) and on her M圜omputer, and she doesn't have one. Tried this a few times, including with rebooting and everything. Going back into Excel, the personal.xls macro is not there.
But then she gets an illegal operation error message, and she crashes out of Excel. She goes to exit Excel, and she gets the desired message: "Do you want to save the changes you made to the Personal Macro Workbook?.", which she answers "Yes". When she goes to install the macro (according to my instructions that I have successfully tested here on someone else's machine), it is loaded correctly.
I have developed a personal.xls macro for a remote user. I posted the below to Excel Newsgroup and haven't gotten the answer I needed.
